10 Reasons Why Frankie Bones Is The Best Restaurant On Hilton Head Island
Las Vegas in the 1960s was a freewheeling city with a devil-may-care atmosphere. It even had a theme song, “Viva Las Vegas,” courtesy of Elvis Presley. The lyrics (“if you see it once, you’ll never be the same again”) offered an enticement of delights.
Here at Frankie Bones, we’ve created the glitz and glamour of that era. The famous Rat Pack would feel right at home at our fabulous restaurant. Yes, Frank, Dean, Sammy, Peter, and Joey….and Frankie Bones: perfect together.
There are many reasons to patronize Frankie Bones and to have a little fun we will let Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. tell you in song.
Let’s listen to Frank:
“I’ve got you under my skin
I’ve got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you’re really part of me ”Yes, when you come to Frankie Bones we will get under your skin and become a part of you. That’s why we are known as the Best Restaurant on Hilton Head. Gourmet food, upscale ambiance, warm attentive service, swanky martinis (need to keep the Pack happy) is why patrons say that Frankie’s has it all.
Just a quick pause to tell a story. Over the years Frank Sinatra picked up a few nicknames. “Chairman of the Board,” Ol’ Blue Eyes,” and “The Voice.” While two of these nicknames seem pretty self-explanatory, how did he get to be known as the Chairman of the Board? Well, in the 1960s Sinatra founded his own record company and called it Reprise. The goal of the company was to give artists complete creative freedom and eventually allow them to own all of their publishing rights. In 1962 his contract with Capitol records ended and he was able to devote himself to his own label. The one issue he was having was that he didn’t have a recording studio and thus the company was constantly paying additional overhead to record.
Fortunately enough, Sinatra had made a big name for himself at this point as a singer and actor. The massive entertainment company Warner Bros. saw a huge opportunity with Sinatra and his new enterprise. Warner bought up two-thirds of Sinatra’s shares to bring Reprise and Sinatra into the Warner family. Warner kept all of Reprise’s executives on board and left Frank as chairman. Guess where that led? Right to Sinatra’s nickname that followed him from that point forward, “Chairman of the Board.” Sinatra personally hated the nickname, but he was the Chairman, whether he liked it or not. The Reprise label went on to become highly successful in representing such acts as Jimi Hendrix, the Kinks, and Nancy Sinatra.
Back to the music with Frank:
“Some like a night at the movies, some like a dance or a show
Some are content with an evening at home by the radio
But when I have an evening to spend
Just give one like this
This is a lovely way to spend an evening
Can’t think of anything I’d rather do”
